Quick answer

eKYC is mandatory for PM-KISAN registered farmers. There are three official ways to do it: OTP-based eKYC on pmkisan.gov.in (needs an Aadhaar-linked mobile number), face authentication in the PM-KISAN mobile app together with UIDAI's Aadhaar Face RD app, or biometric eKYC at a Common Service Centre (CSC), where the convenience fee is Rs 15. Whichever mode you use, the result shows in your beneficiary status after 24 hours. Check it under Know Your Status.

The direct answer

The pmkisan.gov.in home page states that eKYC is mandatory for PM-KISAN registered farmers. The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare's note on eKYC lists three modes:

  1. OTP-based eKYC on the PM-KISAN portal and mobile app. You need an Aadhaar-linked active mobile number.
  2. Face authentication-based eKYC in the PM-KISAN mobile app.
  3. Biometric eKYC at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs).

The portal also says biometric eKYC is now available through CSC VLE logins, the PM-KISAN mobile app and State Authorized User logins. The department says eKYC exists to make sure the money reaches the right farmer's Aadhaar-seeded bank account without middlemen. See our PM-KISAN app page.

On 30 October 2026, the portal announced that the Prime Minister would release the 24th instalment that day in Banaskantha, Gujarat.

Option 1: OTP on the website (any phone or PC)

From the department's note:

  1. Open pmkisan.gov.in.
  2. Click e-KYC at the top right of the website.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number, submit the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile and complete eKYC.

This is the route for iPhone users and PC users, because the PM-KISAN app is linked from the portal only on Google Play.

Option 2: face authentication in the PM-KISAN app (Android)

  1. From Google Play, install PMKISAN GoI (developed by the National Informatics Centre; the portal links this Play listing) and Aadhaar Face RD (AadhaarFaceRD, UIDAI).
  2. Open the PM-KISAN app and log in with your PM-KISAN registered mobile number.
  3. You land on the beneficiary status page.
  4. If eKYC status shows "No", tap eKYC, enter your Aadhaar number and give consent for the face scan.
  5. Scan your face. When the scan succeeds, eKYC is complete.

Option 3: biometric eKYC at a CSC

  1. Visit your nearest CSC or State Seva Kendra with your Aadhaar card and your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  2. The operator does Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for you.
  3. The convenience fee is Rs 15 for eKYC, according to the department's note. Find a CSC at locator.csccloud.in.

Check your eKYC and payment status

  • The note says the status of eKYC done in any mode appears in your beneficiary status after 24 hours.
  • Check it under Know Your Status (KYS) on pmkisan.gov.in, in the app, or through Kisan-eMitra, the PM-KISAN AI chatbot.

Troubleshooting

No OTP arrives. OTP eKYC needs a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. If yours isn't linked, use face authentication in the app or go to a CSC for biometric eKYC.

I did eKYC but it still shows "No". Wait 24 hours. The department says the status takes that long to update.

The app doesn't open a camera for the face scan. Check that Aadhaar Face RD (UIDAI) is installed. It has no icon, so look under Settings → Apps.

My instalment is "withheld". The portal says the department has temporarily withheld benefits in some suspected exclusion cases, for example land acquired after 01-02-2019, or more than one member of the same family receiving benefits, until physical verification is done. Check your eligibility under Know Your Status or ask Kisan-eMitra.

pmkisan.gov.in के होम पेज पर लिखा है कि PM-KISAN में रजिस्टर्ड किसानों के लिए eKYC अनिवार्य है। कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण विभाग के eKYC नोट में तीन तरीके बताए गए हैं:

30 अक्टूबर 2026 को पोर्टल पर घोषणा थी कि प्रधानमंत्री उसी दिन बनासकांठा, गुजरात में 24वीं किस्त जारी करेंगे।

तरीका 1: वेबसाइट पर OTP (किसी भी फ़ोन या PC से)

विभाग के नोट के मुताबिक़:

  1. pmkisan.gov.in खोलें।
  2. वेबसाइट पर ऊपर दाईं ओर e-KYC पर क्लिक करें।
  3. अपना आधार नंबर भरें, आधार से जुड़े मोबाइल पर आया OTP डालें और eKYC पूरा करें।

iPhone और PC वालों के लिए यही तरीका है, क्योंकि पोर्टल पर PM-KISAN ऐप का लिंक सिर्फ़ Google Play का है।

तरीका 2: PM-KISAN ऐप में face authentication (Android)

  1. Google Play से PMKISAN GoI (National Informatics Centre का बनाया; पोर्टल इसी Play लिस्टिंग का लिंक देता है) और Aadhaar Face RD (AadhaarFaceRD, UIDAI) इंस्टॉल करें।
  2. PM-KISAN ऐप खोलें और अपने PM-KISAN में रजिस्टर्ड मोबाइल नंबर से लॉग-इन करें।
  3. आप beneficiary status पेज पर पहुँचेंगे।
  4. अगर eKYC status में "No" दिखे, तो eKYC पर टैप करें, अपना आधार नंबर भरें और चेहरा स्कैन करने की सहमति दें।
  5. अपना चेहरा स्कैन करें। स्कैन सफल होते ही eKYC पूरा हो जाता है।

तरीका 3: CSC पर बायोमेट्रिक eKYC

  1. अपना आधार कार्ड और आधार से जुड़ा मोबाइल नंबर लेकर नज़दीकी CSC या State Seva Kendra जाएँ।
  2. ऑपरेटर आपकी आधार-आधारित बायोमेट्रिक authentication करेगा।
  3. विभाग के नोट के मुताबिक़ eKYC का सुविधा शुल्क 15 रुपये है। नज़दीकी CSC, locator.csccloud.in पर खोजें।

  • नोट के मुताबिक़ किसी भी तरीके से किए eKYC की स्थिति 24 घंटे बाद beneficiary status में दिखती है।
  • इसे pmkisan.gov.in पर Know Your Status (KYS) में, ऐप में, या PM-KISAN के AI चैटबॉट Kisan-eMitra से देखें।

समस्या और समाधान

OTP नहीं आता। OTP वाले eKYC के लिए मोबाइल नंबर आधार से जुड़ा होना चाहिए। अगर आपका नंबर जुड़ा नहीं है, तो ऐप में face authentication करें या बायोमेट्रिक eKYC के लिए CSC जाएँ।

eKYC कर दिया, फिर भी "No" दिख रहा है। 24 घंटे रुकें। विभाग के मुताबिक़ status अपडेट होने में इतना समय लगता है।

चेहरा स्कैन करने के लिए ऐप कैमरा नहीं खोलता। देखें कि Aadhaar Face RD (UIDAI) इंस्टॉल है। इसका आइकन नहीं होता, इसलिए Settings → Apps में देखें।

Yes. OTP eKYC needs an Aadhaar-linked mobile, but face authentication in the PM-KISAN app and biometric eKYC at a CSC don't depend on an OTP to your Aadhaar mobile. For the app, you log in with your PM-KISAN registered mobile number.
