PhonePe is one of the most-used UPI apps in India (Google Play shows 1,000,000,000+ installs). You link a bank account with the mobile number registered at your bank, set a UPI PIN and can then pay by QR code, UPI ID or phone number, recharge mobiles and pay bills. It also sells insurance, mutual funds and digital gold, so the home screen is busy with offers. Payment and banking apps are a favourite target for fake APKs shared on WhatsApp, Telegram and lookalike websites. Install only from Google Play or the App Store and check the developer name before you tap Install.

Is there a PhonePe app for PC?
No. PhonePe does not offer a Windows or Mac app for personal UPI payments. UPI registration is tied to the SIM in your phone, so use the Android or iPhone app. Avoid 'PhonePe for PC' downloads and emulator guides — they are not from PhonePe.
Is the PhonePe APK on download sites safe?
Do not use it. Only the Google Play listing (developer 'PhonePe') and the App Store listing (seller 'PHONEPE PRIVATE LIMITED') are official. A modified APK can steal your UPI PIN.
