Our verdict
NotebookLM became Gemini Notebook in July 2026, but it is the same tool: upload PDFs, web pages, YouTube videos or notes and it answers from those sources. Podcast-style Audio Overviews are its best-known trick, and the mobile apps play them in the background and offline. Running code on your data inside a notebook started with Google AI Ultra and some Workspace plans, with Pro users on the web next in line.
