Our verdict
Every November lakhs of pensioners need a life certificate; this NIC app lets them give it from home with the phone camera — no fingerprint scanner needed. It works together with UIDAI's AadhaarFaceRD app, which does the face match. jeevanpramaan.gov.in lists Android 10 or later or iOS 14 or later on an un-rooted phone, and the app works only in India. A Pramaan ID arrives by SMS when the certificate is accepted.
