Our verdict
DeepSeek's own assistant gives free access to its flagship models, with web search and a step-by-step thinking mode. The trade-off is data: DeepSeek's privacy policy says it collects, processes and stores personal data in the People's Republic of China, and it may use your data to train its models (the policy lists a right to opt out). Weigh that before pasting anything sensitive.
