BGMI or Free Fire on PC: what KRAFTON and Garena officially offer

Quick answer
BGMI has no official PC version. KRAFTON's site offers it for Android and iPhone only, and its Google Play listing showed no 'Install on Windows' option when we checked on 30 October 2026. KRAFTON's PC battle royale is PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, free to play on Steam. For Free Fire, the only official PC route is Free Fire MAX through Google Play Games on PC. Free Fire India is a phone-only app.
The short answer
- BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India): phones only. KRAFTON's official site, battlegroundsmobileindia.com, links to Google Play, the App Store and its own Android download. There is no Windows version, and the Google Play listing showed no Install on Windows button when we checked on 30 October 2026. See our BGMI page.
- PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS: KRAFTON's PC game. Its Steam page lists it as Free To Play, published by KRAFTON, Inc., with 64-bit Windows 10 as the minimum OS. See our PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS page. It's a separate game: your BGMI account and items don't carry over.
- Free Fire MAX: has an official PC route. Its Google Play listing (India) shows Install on Windows, which installs it through Google Play Games on PC, Google's own app. Google Play rates it 16+. See our Free Fire MAX page.
- Free Fire India: phones only. It's on Google Play from Garena and on the App Store from Garena International III Private Limited (iPhone and iPad, iOS 13 or later). Its Play listing showed no Install on Windows button. See our Free Fire India page.
What KRAFTON's rules say about other programs
KRAFTON's BGMI Rules of Conduct (section 5, rule 1, "Do Not Use Unauthorized Programs or Hardware Devices") say that players who use programs or hardware not permitted by KRAFTON may face strong penalties, such as a permanent game ban and restrictions on using the service on their devices. The rules don't list emulators by name, but KRAFTON hasn't announced any permitted PC client for BGMI either. If you want to be sure about a specific setup, ask KRAFTON's customer support at help.battlegroundsmobileindia.com.
How to play Free Fire MAX on PC the official way
- Check your PC against Google's minimum requirements for Google Play Games on PC: Windows 10 (v2004), a solid-state drive (SSD) with 10 GB free, 4 physical CPU cores, 8 GB of RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 630 or a comparable GPU, hardware virtualization turned on, and a Windows administrator account.
- On your PC, open the Free Fire MAX listing on Google Play and click Install on Windows.
- Follow Google's prompts to get Google Play Games on PC, then install Free Fire MAX from inside it.
Free Fire MAX and Free Fire India are different apps with different Play listings. Only Free Fire MAX shows the Windows option.
Why we don't point you to emulators and APKs
Searches like "bgmi pc download" and "free fire india download for pc" lead to emulator bundles and APK files hosted on third-party sites. They're not from KRAFTON or Garena, and you can't tell whether a file has been modified. For BGMI there's the added risk of breaking KRAFTON's rules on unauthorised programs. ToolsBharat links only to the publishers' own pages and official stores.
Troubleshooting
"I don't see Install on Windows on the BGMI or Free Fire India page." Neither game offers it. Of the games covered here, only Free Fire MAX has it.
"Google Play Games says hardware virtualization is off." Google's requirements say it must be turned on. The setting is in your PC's BIOS/UEFI and its name varies by maker, so check your PC or motherboard manual.
"My PC doesn't meet the requirements." Then play on your phone. Google lists the minimums above and doesn't offer a lighter version.
"A site offers 'BGMI PC' or 'Free Fire India PC' as a single installer." It isn't official. Close it.
