Our verdict

RetroArch bundles dozens of emulator 'cores' (NES, SNES, Game Boy, PlayStation and more) behind one interface, with shaders, rewind and netplay. It is incredibly capable but its menus are notoriously confusing at first. Libretro warns that it has no official Microsoft Store release and that the Google Play build is outdated.
