Our verdict

Comet puts Perplexity's answer engine inside the browser, so you can ask questions about what you are reading or summarise several open tabs at once. The download is free on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, though a few assistant features are tied to paid Perplexity plans. Linux is not supported, and anyone wary of an assistant that can read open pages should review the privacy settings first.
